El GREPIMER trabaja en temas de Patología Importada,y enfermedades emergentes o re-emergentes, con un enfoque multidisciplinar que abarca la epidemiología, la clínica, la fisiopatología, la parasitología y las ciencias sociales. Recientemente, se está dando un impulso más marcado a temas de inmigración

Se busca trasladar los resultados de la investigación a  políticas de salud tanto aquí cómo en los paisos donde se colabora. Dentro el amplio abanico de temáticas que se abordan, el grupo se centra en la Enfermedad de Chagas, Arbovirosis, Leishmaniosi, VIH y enteropatógenos.
