Juan Leva Bueno (Ph.D) is a Data Scientist with a strong academic foundation in Biomedical Sciences and a growing specialization in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He holds a BSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and an MSc in Biomedical Sciences. He earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leeds funded by MSCA.

His transition into data science was consolidated through a Master’s in Data Science at La Salle Barcelona–URL, which enabled him to merge his scientific background with computational techniques. This training provided him with robust skills in data analysis, machine learning, and model development, enhancing his ability to tackle complex health problems with a multidisciplinary approach.

Currently, he holds a Severo Ochoa postdoctoral position at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), where he works across the Climate and Health and International Health groups. His primary responsibilities involve developing early warning systems through epidemiological modeling, integrating mathematical and machine learning methodologies. His cross-disciplinary experience allows him to bridge biomedical research with advanced computational modeling to support global public health strategies.
