Data manager Environment and Health over the Lifecourse

Diego is a bioinformatician currently focusing on the application of machine learning and signal processing techniques to physiological data. His current work focuses on the classification of cardiovascular diseases through the analysis of electrocardiogram (ECG) data, utilizing advanced machine learning methods with a particular focus on providing model interpretability metrics to produce greater insights into the underlying mechanisms of these black-box systems.


He holds a bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics which has provided insights into the fields of genetics, molecular biology, and biostatistics amongst others, allowing him to tackle challenges from both biological and computational perspectives. He is as captivated by the biological questions that arise in his field as he is by the development of computational tools to address them in reproducible ways.
