Planetary Health Development Centre ISGlobal-FSM

In a world where human health has improved at the expense of natural ecosystems, we must rethink our approach. Protecting human health is no longer possible without preserving planetary health.
A laboratory that catalyses practical solutions
Building on the Fundació Sanitària Mollet (FSM)'s leadership in environmental sustainability, and in synergy with ISGlobal's mission to translate planetary health research into action, the Planetary Health Development Centre emerges as a dynamic hub for change.
We are shaping the future today by bridging scientific research with real-world practices that influence policies, mindsets, and the healthcare system itself.
What we do
Purpose
Enhancing human health by integrating planetary health principles into healthcare practice.
Work Areas
The Planetary Health Development Centre drives two key action areas to integrate human health with environmental sustainability, developing strategic actions to catalyse and enhance existing initiatives:
- Community-Based Planetary Health Strategies
Objective 1: Promote planetary health strategies in education and knowledge, supporting the implementation of best practices and transformative actions.
Objective 2: Develop a population-level planetary health strategy in FSM's reference area.
- Decarbonisation and Environmental Sustainability in Healthcare
Objective 3: Support the decarbonisation and sustainable transition of the Catalan and international healthcare systems.
Objective 4: Develop governance and accountability models at the local and community levels.
We turn research into scalable solutions that drive both human health and environmental sustainability.
