People

Celia Santos Tapia is a biologist by training and holds a PhD in Genetics (UB). She also has a Master in cellular biology and genetics (UAM) and a Master in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary and Upper Secondary Education (UNIR). She has extensive experience in the field of education, outreach and participation and is co-founder of Noies al Lab, an iniciative that aims to disseminate science and technology with a gender perspective.

She currently works as a researcher in the Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health programme, where she designs, develops and applies different methodologies for citizen participation in research projects, in the field of urban planning, enviroment and health, particularly on mental health and urban nature (RECETAS), air quality (LAB CSU, AVANTIA) or urban planning and health in a broad sense (Park(ing)Day, ALIA). She works more specifically with: i) co-creation methodologies for participatory processes, ii) citizen science, iii) education projects (compulsory education) and iv) scientific dissemination. Her work aims to make existing scientific evidence accessible and to engage citizens in research in a meaningful way.
