Clara Suñer is a postdoctoral researcher at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), Spain. After completing her Pharmacy training, she earned a Master in Biomedical Research from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and conducted her predoctoral training at the IRB Barcelona, earning a PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona in 2018.

From 2020 to 2024, Clara Suñer worked as a postdoctoral researcher in infectious diseases at the Fight Infectious Diseases Foundation and Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, Spain. In this setting, she developed clinical research projects focused on advancing  epidemiological knowledge for emerging viral diseases like Covid-19 and Mpox, while also testing the efficacy of novel diagnostics, treatments and vaccines. Her findings had global implications, informing international infection prevention and control policies. Additionally, she contributed to research aimed at improving diagnostic and treatment strategies for yaws and syphilis in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Papua New Guinea.

Leveraging her interdisciplinary expertise, her scientific interests focuses on advancing the use of innovative diagnostics tests and public health strategies to reduce Tuberculosis burden, conducting projects between Spain and Mozambique.
