Our Team

Karol Mishel Delgado Juca is a clinical biochemist with a full scholarship from the Central University of Ecuador and a Master's in Advanced Microbiology from the University of Barcelona. Throughout her academic career, she have actively participated in specialized courses and conferences such as CRISPR-CAS9, the 1st Congress of Molecular Oncology, and the 11th Medicine Laboratory Consortium. Furthermore, she have dedicated time to community outreach projects and completed pre-professional internships in various laboratories and hospitals in Quito, Ecuador. Her professional internship was conducted at SYNLAB-ECUADOR.
Subsequently, she embarked on her professional journey at LATINOMEDICAL S.A. – LABORATORIOS VERIS, where she held the position of Laboratory Leader at the Central Medical 12 de octubre for two years. Following this, she relocated to Barcelona, Spain, to pursue her postgraduate studies. Under the guidance of Dr. Sara Soto and Dr. Victoria Ballén at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, she conducted her Master's thesis within the microbiology research group, successfully defending her dissertation in September 2022.
Currently, she is employed as a laboratory technician in Dr. Jordi Villa's microbiology group, where she is contributing to a project for a pharmaceutical company and collaborating on other research initiatives aimed at developing novel therapeutics
