Antònia Valentín

GIS Staff Scientist Environment and Health over the Lifecourse | Global Viral and Bacterial Infections

Antònia Valentín is Staff Scientist and GIS Coordinator at ISGlobal since 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in Geography (UAB, 1997), a master's degree in Geographic Information Technologies (UAB, 1998) and a postgraduate degree in Planning and Management of Mobility (UPC School, 2010). 

She is also trained in Technical Engineering in Computer Systems at the Open University of Catalonia (more than 81.5 credits out of 180), including a Certificate of Specialisation in Advanced Programming in Object Orientation (2008). 

She has worked as a GIS technician since 1996, at the Research Centre for Ecological and Forestry Applications (CREAF- UAB) from 1996 to 1998; at the Geography Department of UAB from 1998 to 2000; at T-Plan (a telecommunications company) from 2000 to 2001; at the European Topic Centre on Terrestrial Environment (European Environment Agency) from 2001 to 2005; at SIGPAC, Department of Agriculture of the Government of Catalonia, from 2005 to 2007; and in collaboration with the University of Lleida (2007- 2009), the Town Hall of Granollers (2010) and the Deputation of Barcelona (2011). 

She's been part of the team in several research projects. Her main tasks are spatial analysis, data management, mobile geolocation data processing, database administration and programming.
