WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

ISGlobal is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Patient Involvement Project Manager to join our team and support the eQUOL project, which focuses on the experiences and unmet needs of children, adolescents, and young adult cancer survivors with neurocognitive impairments. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering active participation among patients and caregivers, ensuring their voices shape the development of e-health tools that address their specific needs and challenges. Your role will involve coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across Europe to facilitate patient-centered insights, guiding participatory research practices, and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational Background: A degree in healthcare management, social sciences, public health, psychology, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification or certification in patient involvement, or participatory research is advantageous.
  • Patient Involvement Experience: At least 3 years of experience in patient involvement or public engagement within healthcare or research settings, ideally involving work with vulnerable or diverse populations, such as adolescents and young adults with cognitive impairments.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating projects, including developing timelines, managing resources, and ensuring delivery of project milestones.
  • Qualitative Research Knowledge: Familiarity with qualitative research methods such as focus groups, interviews, and thematic analysis, including experience in data collection and analysis for patient-centered or participatory research.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and researchers. Experience facilitating workshops or focus groups is highly valued.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong communication and empathy skills, with the ability to work sensitively with patients and families dealing with complex health issues. Ability to convey technical information in a clear, compassionate manner.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity: Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and understanding of cultural, social, and health disparities, with experience in adapting research or project approaches to meet diverse patient needs.
  • Digital Health Literacy: Understanding of digital health tools and e-health interventions, with the ability to assess their usability and relevance for patients with varying levels of cognitive ability.
     

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development of the protocol for detection of unnmets needs of cancer patient survivors with neuro-cognitive impairements
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across different countries to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
  • Qualitative Data Collection and Analysis: Design and conduct focus groups to identify patient needs, preferences, and experiences.
  • Support thematic analysis and the interpretation of qualitative data, ensuring findings inform project deliverables.
  • Provide training and resources for staff and partners on patient involvement practices and participatory research methods.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance recruitment and engagement.
  • Develop and refine patient-facing materials, such as recruitment flyers, informed consent documents, and feedback reports.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical research and patient confidentiality, ensuring that all activities comply with institutional and legal guidelines.

LANGUAGE LEVEL

  • Fluent English and Spanish: The role requires excellent written and spoken proficiency in both languages to effectively communicate with international teams, patients, caregivers, and stakeholders.
  • B2 Level Catalan: A working proficiency in Catalan is essential to engage with local communities, healthcare providers, and participants in the region, ensuring inclusivity and effective communication.
     

CONDITIONS

  • Duration: 37 months
  • Starting date: December 2024
  • Contract: part-time
  • Salary Range: According to ISGlobal salary scale

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
