Ana Maria Bertolini has a degree in nutrition from the Faculty of Public Health/University of São Paulo in Brazil. She is currently a PhD candidate at the same university (direct entry) in the Global Health and Sustainability Program and a mentor at the USP Extension Center on sustainable food - Sustentarea. Ana has experience in participatory research and interdisciplinary themes related to food and sustainability, with a focus on the global public policy agenda in food and nutrition, urban food systems, urban and peri-urban agriculture, ecosystem services and nature-based solutions.

She joined ISGlobal as a visiting researcher under the supervision of Matilda van den Bosch and Payam Dadvand to explore the links between urban agriculture, nature-based solutions and ecosystem services.
