Raúl Méndez did his master's degree on Physical Oceanography at the Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE) focusing on developing a system to generate more valuable information using ensemble forecasting with a numerical weather prediction system, and a BSc. in Atmospheric Science at the Universidad Veracruzana (UV) working especially with a regional climate model (RegCM). He gained his experience as a software engineer at CICESE, where he worked automating simulations of an operational forecasting model for the Consorcio de Investigación del Golfo de México (CIGoM). In addition, he worked with numerical a climate model at National Weather Service of México. Throughout his career he gained experience compiling and running different climate/weather models.
