WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a full-time statistician to join the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit (UBIOES-GD) and participate from the statistical side in the study of several projects currently being developed at UBIOES-GD.
Specifically, the candidate will work on a research project related to Chagas disease. Likewise, you will also participate in other studies in the field of Malaria, helping the statisticians responsible for these studies in various analysis tasks. In collaboration with epidemiologists and principal investigators of the studies, you must corroborate that the analyzes carried out comply with the needs set by the researchers described in the protocols and analysis plans. It must also have a close relationship with the data managers in the initial processes of creating the databases and analysis variables, as well as in the final documentation of these for subsequent curation and preservation of the data by the data managers.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Drafting the analysis plan with the project researchers
- Analysis of data from research projects following the guidelines of the project analysis plans
- Participation in the writing of the methodology in the scientific articles derived from the research.
- Collaboration with other members of the UBIOES-GD in relation to the activity carried out in the unit.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in statistics or at least two years of experience in a similar position
- Previous experience in the health field, knowledge of Chagas will be an advantage.
- Experience in the processing and management of statistical data and use of statistical programs, preferably STATA and/or R
- Organizational and work capacity in interdisciplinary groups.
- Ability to work by objectives, adjusting to established delivery times.
- Previous experiences in statistical/epidemiological studies in developing countries.
- Good written and oral communication skills.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
