ISGlobal is looking for a Scientific Writer for the Communication department. The selected candidate will be responsible for effectively communicating research findings and supporting the department in a range of media activities.
 

• Preparing press releases and other communications materials for different audiences.
• Management of websites and blogs.
• Communication of research projects  
   

• Design of communications materials.
• Photography/video production for communication purposes.
• Creation and management of newsletters.
• Assisting the Communications team in the rest of its tasks, including the management and update of contact databases.
• Handling media inquiries.

• Solid scientific background 
• Bachelor or Master degree in Journalism or Communications.
• Proven experience in science communication .

• Good capacity to summarise and translate research findings for different audiences
• Excellent writing and proof reading abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong journalistic criteria for news curation

• The following skills will be considered a plus:
• Graphic design (Canva, Infogram, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign...).
• Video editing (Capcut, Premiere…).
• Web editing
• Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS.
• Social media content creation and management
• Experience with CRM platforms

• Fluency in English is required
• Proficiency in Spanish and Catalan will be valued.

• Contract type: Full time, permanent.
• Start date: Immediate.
• Salary according to ISGlobal’s salary scales.

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Written test to assess technical skills
3 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
