The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.
The activities will be carried out in the framework of the project ISMiHealth, funded by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2023 PROD 00122).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a full-time research technician who is interested in taking over and managing activities of a technology transfer project that is carried out by the Migrant Health research area. The overall project goal is to evaluate, improve and scale-up an innovative solution for screening of multiple diseases.
The focus of the Migrant Health research area is the evaluation of public health interventions aimed to improve the health of migrants at different levels of care (Primary care, antenatal care, blood banks…). Also, we have developed systematic reviews and evidence-based guidance on screening of infectious diseases for migrant populations.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree and/or Master in Global health/Public health.
- Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
- The ideal candidate will also have experience applying mixed methods in research.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Research-related training in Public Health or Epidemiology and translational research areas will be considered
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Strong motivation to engage in interdisciplinary and intersectoral network wide training activities
- Interest in technology transfer and innovation in research.
- Data management skills and use of statistical software: experience using one of the following programmes, STATA or R
- Experience in qualitative data analysis using NVivo software
- Willingness to participate in network-wide training events, dissemination and engaging activities
- Experience in migrant health
- Experience in process evaluation will be desirable
- Skills in writing and reporting
- Good organisational skills
- Good communications skills
- Can work in groups
- Supporting the implementation of the project’s technological solution.
- Supporting the execution of a process evaluation of the project, including participatory research tasks.
- Supporting data entry to the digital information systems, ensuring adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
- Developing systems, procedures for data management, assisting in performing data-related tasks.
- Collaboration in the preparation of technical and scientific reports, conference abstracts, presentations and journal papers.

CONDITIONS
- Duration: 8 month and half (approximately).
- Starting date: 14 November 2024 (approximately).
- Finish date: 31 July 2025 (approximately).

- Salary Range: According to ISGlobal Salary scale.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
