The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in the following main areas, Malaria and other Infectious Diseases, Maternal, Child and reproductive Health, Urban Health and Child and environmental health, Climate & Non-Communicable Diseases.  ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

ISGlobal and Mollet Health Foundation (FSM) are looking for a person with a solid professional and/or academic track record in this field to promote the launch of the CDSP. The functions that this person will have to perform include, among others, the preparation of the 2025-2026 work plan, the coordination of the steering committee, the implementation of the different programs, the relationship with the collaborating institutions and the search for institutional funding and competitive. These functions will be defined more precisely depending on the characteristics and experience of the selected person.

In order to be able to carry out these functions, it will be necessary to prove a solid post-graduate education, as well as an outstanding career in the fields directly related to environmental sustainability and human health, a remarkable leadership and management capacity, and a determined motivation to contribute to the development of planetary health.  A fluent command of spoken and written English as well as an advanced level in the use of communication technologies is essential.

Interested persons must submit a letter explaining their interest in the call, a complete CV and two letters of recommendation relating to their professional and/or academic experience. 
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional experience in the fields of environmental sustainability and planetary health. 
  • Experience working in international projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage/lead work groups
  • Experience in the translation of scientific knowledge into policies and programs
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate training in some of the fields mentioned
  • Skills of creativity, leadership and empathy.
  • Advanced level of Catalan, Spanish and English
