The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a full-time filedworker to join the INMA (INfancia y Medio Ambiente) pregnancy cohort, which started more than 12 years ago in different Spanish settings (www.proyectoinma.org). The current position is for conducting the new follow-up in INMA Sabadell when children will be 17-18 years old. This work is part of the P4COPD project (Prediction, Prevention, Personalized and Precision management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in young adults). P4COPD has received funding from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III. The predoctoral researcher will work on exploring the environmental/lifestyle determinants of low lung function and COPD in children, young adults, and older individuals.
 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience on data collection for population-based studies
  • Experience on child and adolescents health 
  • Experience in exercise tests and exhaled gases tests will be an asset
     

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Contact families for the new follow-up of the INMA Sabadell cohort
  • Visit participants and conduct interviews related to the study
  • Follow up with participants
  • Visit the participants at schools
  • Collect biological samples from participants 
  • Be able to strictly follow the protocols of the study (some of them written in English)
     

SKILLS

  • Strong organization and team-working skills
  • Team player, yet capable of working autonomously
  • Able to self-manage with the participants
  • Good communication skills with the participants of the study
  • Flexibility

LANGUAGE LEVEL

  • Catalan, Spanish, and English

CONDITIONS

  • Duration: 6 months 
  • Starting date: November 2024
  • Contract: Full time
  • Salary Range:  Technician II C

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
