WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a Biostatistician who is interested in taking over and managing activities in The Bipolar Exposome-Gene Interaction Naturalistic (BEGIN) study funded by the Fundació La Marató de TV3. BEGIN aims to explore and clarify the influence of genetic factors related to circadian rhythms and environmental factors, such as air pollution, urbanization, green spaces, light and noise exposure, on the course of Bipolar Disorder. The post holder will work with Dr Léa Maitre, assistant research professor in the area of Exposome research. It will provide opportunities for interaction with other groups (internally, nationally and internationally) in particular within the Exposome Hub, the data science group and the Environment and Health over the Lifecourse program.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS
- Master in biomedical sciences, biostatistics, bioinformatics or epidemiology with a strong emphasis on data analysis
- Knowledge of applied statistics.
- Strong experience in R programming
- Self-motivated, autonomous person with team work skills and ability to work in various projects.
- Professional attitude and excellent attention to detail.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Good communication skills both written and spoken.
- Good level of English (written and spoken).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will involve preparing the patient database and codebook based on repeated questionnaire data, genetics, sensors and geographical information system (GIS) modelling extracted variables related to the environment. The technician will also be involved in conducting exposome-wide association studies, in relation to various mental health symptoms in bipolar patients. The technician will also work with large datasets from multiple sources, related to psychiatric disorders and exposome research.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
